Who is The Travel Junkie?

I often get the question of "who is the travel junkie"? The Travel Junkie is no different than any of you using this website. We are a group of regular people that go to work and pay our bills. Much like all of you, we love to travel. Whether it's a quick jaunt up to the GA Mountains or a 2 week cruise in Alaska, we love to travel and see the the sites that only the locals experience.

Don't get us wrong, we make sure to visit the well-known (and sometimes cheesy) tourist traps. Heck, we all need to bring a t-shirt home to our loved ones stating that "my friend went to Disney World and all I got was this stupid t-shirt"....I mean, who doesn't? Even so, most of our fondest memories of traveling involve activities that are local to the places that we visit.

By hanging out at the neighborhood pub we can glean what most travelers don't when they go on a vacation....a view from the perspective of someone who actually lives there. It's at this point of view that you truly get the essence of the place you are visiting.
