San Diego: A Place to Dream, A Place to Visit, A Place to Live!
Located on the
far western side of the United States is a city of dreams. This city
houses more fun family activities than all of Disney World combined,
there is access to the Pacific Ocean, a touring highway edging on
the cliffs of nowhere and a culture of people so diverse that no two
faces will ever look the same. This city is San Diego.
With a population of more than 1,000,000 people, San Diego is the 2nd largest city in the entire state of California. With all of the luxuries of big city life, you would think there would be nothing unique and interesting amidst the traffic, noise and constant movement of a city this size, but that would be an incorrect assumption.
Hidden from the views of the tourists and the visitors are some the best and most locally known spots on all of the western sea board. If food, fun, outdoor play or a space adventure is something to look forward to, San Diego has that covered.
For the pallet, George's at the Cove is the prime destination. While this spot is world renowned and has been featured in Gourmet Magazine, the locals are the ones who started all the fuss. The chef at George's is one of the top 10 in the United States, the views are worth more than you will pay for the food and the feeling after consuming a plate of locally grown, fresh fruits and vegetables...there is nothing like it in the world.
For the fun and outdoor play, Highway 101 is the choice of dreams. This highway has been carved out of the side of a mountain with roads so narrow at times, they have to be closed during certain parts of the year. Miles and miles of nothing but wildlife, beaches and more beaches, this trip is one that may take a few days, but leaving the stresses of the world behind and regaining that sense of self has never been more beautiful.
For the space voyager, the Reuben H Fleet Science Center can be the one and only destination. Watch dolphins up close and personal in huge IMAX form and examine the world of science and space through not only the eyes but the hands with permanent hands on exhibits that beg visitors to mess with them.
San Diego is about more than the thrill of the city. The best restaurants, the most stress less days and the best hands on scientific and space adventures on Earth are all available to the locals and tourists of San Diego. Just don't tell them I told you!
