The Land of the Great Outdoors!
Phoenix, Arizona
There is something about Phoenix AZ that is
almost surreal. The heated lands causing the eyes to see shapes and
colors reflecting off nothing and everything. The old spirits of
tribes whisking through the air whispering histories into the ears
of all. The city center of Phoenix AZ is where many tourists come to
play. The lands surrounding the city center is where the soul can
explore.
The South Mountain Park Scenic Drive is the first essential tip while in Phoenix AZ. Comprised of more than 16,500 acres, the roads of the park allow visitors to immerse themselves in a time before business, residential and technology advances left Phoenix AZ just another metropolitan city. The lands are old and rich in the hues of deep reds, warm golds and greens that seem out of place.
After traveling through the winding roads of South Mountain Park, the visitor will need to walk back into the real world lest they get lost in the beauty of the lands. The Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix AZ offer more than 20,000 different species of plants. The fact that these beautiful pieces of nature can grow within the desert lands, is a near miracle.
After being refreshed by the botanical gardens, the visitor will find themselves drawn back to the lands of the desert. This trip will take the visitor out of the car and into a pair of hiking boots. Camelback Mountain is a huge destination for Phoenix AZ travelers. At the base of the mountain are beginner trails filled with desert wildflowers and the occasional native animal or two. For the advanced hikers, the sky (literally) is the limit and the trails head from the bottom of the mountain to the top.
For the travelers that like to keep their feet on the ground, Phoenix AZ offers a labor of love for all to enjoy. The Mystery Castle was built from recycled bottles and brick in the 1930's. As a tribute from a father to a daughter, this immense 8,000 square foot castle is now the home to tours in southern Phoenix. The grandiose entryway, multiple fireplaces and sheer artistry are something to explore.
Phoenix AZ is more than just a city in the desert. This city was built on lands of heritage, history and spirits. The southwest is a place of healing and the lands are thought to be the home of many of the most honored native souls. Living in Phoenix AZ is one thing, but visiting gives the tourist a chance to see all the Phoenix AZ has to offer from outdoor activities to a castle built with love.
