Sin City is Open for Family Business Too!

Las Vegas, Nevada

Those flashy lights, the casinos, the strip and Fremont Street are all very familiar sites for people who have seen Las Vegas, NV on television. The reality of Las Vegas is nothing like they show on television. Families can wine and dine in this city of extremes just as easily as any other style of guest and they don't have to stay at the Circus Circus to do so.

Las Vegas, NV has long since been thought of as the adult playground. Sin city, as it is well known, provides more casinos and gambling opportunities within a one mile radius than the rest of the world combined. But, hidden from the normal strip views are the more subtle touches of Las Vegas, NV. These sights are the ones very few people write about and only the locals enjoy.

Located just outside of the city center is the Bonnie Springs Petting Zoo and Old Nevada. This site offers the visitor to Las Vegas, NV a look back in time. An authentic representation of Las Vegas before the lights and the glam is sure to please all who believe Las Vegas has always been about gambling. The petting zoo is just an added touch that makes this spot a kids favorite.

If a representation of land is not your style, maybe the sky can bring pleasure. The Community College of Southern Nevada offers all visitors a chance to sky watch. Las Vegas, NV has some of the most open and beautiful skies nearly year round. These skies are filled with what seems like millions of stars just out of reach. The CCSN Planetarium brings those stars in for a closer look.

For an even more out of this world experience, the visitor to Las Vegas, NV can see a blend of life and art. The Bodies Exhibit, located at the Tropicana Hotel, provides an inside look into the human body. With more than 21 whole body specimens and 260 organs on display, this exhibit is certainly not for the faint of heart.

Las Vegas, NV has been left with the singles wrap for far too long. The life of many locals is one of calmness and serenity. Locals do not live in casinos, they live in the real world where Old Nevada once was, the sky is the limit and the only thing stopped us from looking inside ourselves is not taking a trip to the Tropicana.
